These Two Videos Will Save You Multiple Shots Around the Green

Golfers needlessly throw away multiple strokes around the green because they are not using the right technique with their wedges. In this article, I want to focus on two specific kinds of lies in the rough that give most golfers issues – buried lies and fluffy lies.
I have two videos from one of the best short game instructors out there, Brandon Stooksbury. In each video, Brandon gives a few pointers on your setup and small technique changes you can make to help execute these shots more effectively. These are videos from our Insider Membership, you can find out more about joining here.

The next step is to take this information and try to implement what Brandon is talking about. Give yourself these lies in your backyard, or on the practice green. As you get more comfortable with them, I can assure you that you will see fewer mistakes on the course. These are the kind of shots that will help save more pars, and more importantly, eliminate big errors that lead to double bogeys.

Both videos are logical and clearly articulate how to perform the technique.
One thing I do for fluffy lies that works for me is simply to choke down on the club. I keep the same setup, same swing, just account for the ball sitting a bit higher off the ground. And if I’m in between clubs, I take more club because the ball should travel slightly shorter than usual with the iron I’m hitting (fliers aren’t considered here).
