Central Florida is a haven of golf courses and resorts. Orlando is a perfect hub for year-round golf, attracting retirees from around the country and snow-bound golfers during the winter months. It also happens to include some of the most popular vacation destinations in the entire world. Below are a few of the multitude of the Orlando golf courses that you can play. Be sure to check out our complete map directory of every public golf course in the United States as well.

Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club (Haines City, FL)

One of the most unique courses in the state of Florida, Southern Dunes stands apart from the typical course found amongst Orlando golf courses. The hillside layout features over 100 feet in elevation change, and dunes covered in native high grasses form borders that roll with the land. It is a design that rewards well-played shots while punishing poorly executed ones. Affectionately called The Dunes, this course is a challenge for all willing to tee it up there.

There has been so much content created about the Streamsong Golf Resort that a short blurb here could hardly do it justice. Innumerable articles and podcasts have been dedicated to one of the country’s top golf getaways. For the purposes of this article, know that it is only an hour’s drive away from Orlando.  Weigh that fact while deciding where you next want to chase that little white ball.

I did not see the ritz on the list. Certainly one of the best in Orlando as well as OCN. All the courses on the list are good besides falcons which sadly has gone downhill the past year.

I know one cannot say that the two best golf courses I have played in Florida are in Orlando but nevertheless the Rolling Oakes and Pine Barrens at World Woods are definitely worth a mention.
