The Best Dallas Golf Courses You Should Be Playing

Texas is a massive state. For most of us, the first thing that comes to mind is Dallas. Home of the Cowboys, big oil companies and everything Texas, it’s a wonder how it isn’t the capital. Dallas is also a quickly-growing city and as it booms, it has grown increasingly interesting and filled with many leisure options. In the past, many would not have considered it a golf destination, but this Texas city is a must for any golf lover. That's why we want to give you our rundown of the best Dallas golf courses.

Iron Horse Golf Course - Forth Worth Fun

Everyone knows that DFW means Dallas-Fort Worth. They are twin cities that have fused together into a metropolis. Iron Horse golf course is easily one of the top tracks in the area. The layout is great, has a relaxed atmosphere and is a good balance between challenging and easy which makes it ideal for a nice Sunday round. Plus with its friendly staff and all around convenience, it is totally a local favorite while still being fairly easy to get a tee time.

Twin Lakes Golf Course - Worth the Drive

Dallas is a major city so finding a relaxed course inside it can be a bit challenging. Twin Lakes is Canton and only about an hour from Dallas. It is wonderfully scenic. Constructed inside an orchard, you can truly feel at peace when you play. There are no houses, cars or anything to get in the way of your game. Greens fees are also very reasonable and more than make up for any expense you incur for driving over.

Tenison Park Golf Course - Dallas History

Both have great rates and regardless of which course you choose, they are both conveniently located so you have to swing by if you are in town.

Dallas Cowboys Golf Club - You Just Have To

Love them or hate them, the Cowboys are an American institution. By far the most popular team in the league, they are talked about constantly even during poor seasons. This is the world’s only NFL-themed golf course. And if you are a football fan, then it is absolutely worth the slightly higher greens fees.

And though some might find it to be a bit cheesy, it is a stunning course with great amenities. After you play eighteen, you can check out the football museum to get a great look at sporting history. Doesn't that sound like a good way to spend the day before kickoff?

The Tribute Golf Club in the Colony - Scottish Style With Texas Hospitality

This is one of the most unique Dallas golf courses. The course is a short drive from the city on Lake Lewisville. It is an authentic links course with all the features you would to except such as massive bunkers, large dunes, and unlike many public courses, accuracy is rewarded over driving ability.

The course is in excellent conditions and is a great day if you are looking for a break from the city. Rates are a little higher but worth every penny.
