Clicgear 3.5 Review: The Luxury SUV of Push Carts

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…

Golf courses are meant to be walked. If you are physically capable, and your golf course allows it, I think you should try your best to walk as much as possible.

It’s great exercise, you will enjoy your time outside more, and I think it’s conducive to playing better overall.

Of the 30-50 rounds I play a year, I estimate that I’m only in a cart 5-6 times. As such, I’m always on the lookout for ways to make my walk more enjoyable.

One of the things that had been bothering me last year was the toll that carrying my bag might be causing on my back and shoulders towards the end of the round. This year I decided to start using a push cart in some rounds to take some of the stress off my back.

There are several options out there ranging in quality and price. I’ve seen pretty much every model of cart at my course, including one that is motorized, and you can control with a remote! Clicgear has been recognized as one of the leaders in this space. If you recently watched the NCAA finals, almost every single player who was using a push cart had this brand. I’ve been testing their 3.5 model over the last 4 months, and it is an absolutely excellent product for a number of reasons. If you’re in the market for a push cart, I think you should seriously consider this brand.

Let’s find out why…

Size and portability

I don’t have a ton of room in my garage or my car, so space is important to me. I can barely fit my golf bag in the trunk of my car (it has to be angled) so getting a cart that would save me space was a must.

The Clicgear 3.5 is shockingly small.

After seeing it in full size, you can’t believe how compact it is once it’s folded up. I believe this is a testament to the design and quality of the product.

There’s a lot more going on in this cart compared to most of the budget models I see around. While it took me a few times to learn how to completely fold and unfold the Clicgear, it quickly became apparent that they are using very quality materials. You can tell a lot of effort went in to making this product.

As an owner of a fairly compact car I can tell you that if space is an issue for you, there’s not much to worry about with this model. You can see how neatly it fits in the trunk of my car.

Features and Performance

Once you’ve got the Clicgear 3.5 set up, it’s relatively easy to get your bag attached. There are two harnesses and adjustable holders to fit your bag and make sure it’s secure during the round.

They’re quite tight, and there is pretty much zero chance your bag will fall off.

My favorite feature of the cart is the extra storage it provides. I’m usually eating a snack (or sometimes lunch) on the course and drinking water. You can conveniently store any food, beverages, or whatever other accessories you’ve got in the net near the handle and the compartment shown.

For those of you who are addicted to your cell phones, this would be a good place to put it.

This solved a major issue for me because when I load my bag up with water, snacks, sunscreen, and whatever else I might use on the course, my bag can get quite heavy. On those days I find myself using a push cart now, and my back is thanking me for it.

My course offers an extremely hilly terrain with a lot of bumps along the way. And this cart handled them beautifully, which is why I deem it the “luxury SUV” model. It offers a smooth ride, you don’t feel like you are laboring over the terrain of the course.

This push cart is sturdy, durable, and I believe it could handle just about any terrain you throw at it.

Clicgear 3.5 Add Ons

Clicgear has done something very clever and made their carts modular. They have a wide range of accessories available that seamlessly attach to their products and offer quite a bit of utility on the golf course.

I have the mittens, a drink cooler, and a shoe cleaner. Each of them has come in quite handy throughout the season so far, and it’s certainly something that sets them apart from some of the other companies in this space.

Wrapping It Up

There are a wide variety of push carts to choose from on the market. You can go really cheap, and probably get something that will be a bit of a hassle to deal with and won’t last very long.

Clicgear is an extremely respected name in the industry and has a reputation for building quality products that last. After using their 3.5 model for four months I can see why. This is a great push cart that I highly recommend if you are someone who is looking to lighten the load off your back during a round.

The Clicgear 3.5 can be purchased on Amazon for $219.99 at the time this article was published. To find out more about their products you can visit their website here.

Yes! Until you REALLY check into it and wonder! You know, having to wonder if you’d be doing it “The All American Way!” Purchasing something of value since NOTHINGS made of value anymore in the country. It’s from “OFF THE BOAT” and then you have to keep it up constantly referring to where you’ll get parts? I almost purchased a 3.5 cart UNTIL I finally ran into a good commentary on HOW SOMEONE GOT SCREWED! You’ve got to buy a golf cart and THAT’S something that HAS to do miles! I’M NOT GETTING SCREWED! Oh! But it guaranteed!? IT’S CALLED GOLF!

I had a Clicgear until I upgraded to an electric cart. The Clicgear was wonderful. You can keep your scorecard on top of the black container, along with a pencil. Inside, you can store spare balls, tees, etc. The mesh pouch was very convenient for whatever. I often put my big water ball in it because it was so much more convenient. It was very easy to push. Before I had it, I used one of the pull carts that the golf club used—as soon as I got the Clicgear, I noticed a huge difference in how smoothly it rolled and how much lighter the bag felt. Also, the golf bag didn’t keep falling off.

When you share a buggy, your ball invariably goes one way and your partner’s ball goes just the opposite. It’s easy to lose site of where one of the balls is when you head in the opposite direction. Walking straight towards your own ball is best. Plus, I just feel better walking.

I bought click gear 3.0 in 2013 and it has been a reliable caddie cart for the 2 or 3 rounds a week since. More than value for money
